The Language and Learning Lab

The Language and Learning Lab was founded in 2014 by Dr. Caragh Reid, originally teaching Japanese both online and in the classroom to children and adults focusing on developing students' confidence. Dr. Caragh Reid studied Japanese Studies at University of Ulster receiving a First Class Honours, completed a MA Japanese Studies at SOAS, University of London, and then completed a PhD in Tatemae and Honne: The Function of Theatre in Japan. During the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020, a requirement for classes in other languages and subjects developed as students looked for alternative providers for classes. We now offer classes in Japanese, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Latin, Maths, English, Psychology, Business Studies, Science, Sociology and English Literature.

Having established a successful company providing onsite educational programmes to schools, during the Coronavirus pandemic, these programmes also moved online and, therefore, the Language and Learning Lab do not only offer language lessons but also offer classes on World Around Us topics, maths and phonics for our younger students.
